Police Headquarters on Tuesday issued a wanted bulletin for 20-year-old Errol Thapordeen called “Buffy/Bowie/Powie” for questioning in relation to murder committed on Rudendra Persaud at the weekend at Non Pariel, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of Thapordeen is asked to contact the police on telephone numbers 226-6978, 225-8196, 226-2870, 226-7065, 229-2557, 229-2750, 229-2019, 227-1149, 226-7065, 225-6940, 226-9834, 911 or the nearest police station.
His last known address was Lot 319 Enterprise, ECD.
26-year-old, Rudendra Persaud, a labourer of Foulis, ECD was killed during a brawl at a wedding house on the East Coast on Sunday.
Police said Persaud was severely beaten at a wedding house at Non Pariel Main Road, allegedly by two known suspects.
Initial investigations revealed that Persaud was at his relative’s wedding when the family was approached by two men who started to rob and assault family members.
His mother, Geeta Boodram told the News Room that her son intervened and was dealt numerous lashes about his head and body by the suspects who were both armed with large pieces of wood.
He collapsed and was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital in an unconscious state, where he was placed on life support until he died hours later on Sunday.
A post mortem conducted on Monday showed that he died as a result of a fractured skull.
