A 42-year-old Guyana Defence Force (GDF) Coast Guards died on Saturday night after he crashed his motorcycle on the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
The News Room understands that Troy Phillips was speeding along the roadway when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with the concrete median.
Eyewitnesses told the News Room that Phillips pitched off the motorcycle and landed some distance away.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, where he died while receiving treatment.
