Chairman of A New and United Guyana (ANUG) Timothy Jonas has confirmed that he was asked by a Doctor from the Ministry of Public Health to undergo a test for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Jonas, who has been vocal about the 2020 electoral process since its commencement, told the News Room Friday he received a call from the Doctor who told him that he was observed displaying symptoms of the disease on Thursday during his visit to the Arthur Chung Conference Center where the recount of votes is taking place.
However, he was not approached at the Center where he was performing duties as a party agent for ANUG during the ongoing recount.
Jonas told the News Room that he is not displaying any symptoms of COVID-19.
Jonas spent almost all of Thursday at the Arthur Chung Conference Center.
Jonas further said he will provide further details on his Facebook page soon.
