Recount of Reg. 7 starts; 718 ballot boxes counted so far
One of the new work stations added by the Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) on Tuesday began counting the votes cast in Region Seven.
That station has counted eight of the 82 ballot boxes so far.
The other new station, along with two previously assigned to Region Two, are counting votes cast in Region Six. Those stations counted 18 boxes on Tuesday, according to GECOM’s Public Relations Officer, Yolanda Ward.
A total of 76 ballot boxes were counted on Tuesday as follows; 18 for Region Three, 14 for Region Four and 18 for Region Five.
The completion of these boxes brought the overall total to 718 or just over 25% of the 2,339 ballot boxes to be counted in the ten electoral districts.
