Victims identified as teen brothers in Enmore hit and run accident

The two victims of a hit and run accident on the Enmore East Coast Demerara Public Road Sunday afternoon have been identified as brothers.

Sixteen-year-old Sheldon Major died while his brother, 14-year-old Christopher Pollard received severe injuries to the head and body. He is currently admitted at the Georgetown Public Hospital in a stable condition.

Traffic Chief Linden Isles told the News Room that the siblings were identified by their father, Jermaine Peters. The News Room understands that Major was Peter’s biological son and Pollard is his stepson.

The brothers, of Enmore North, were struck down by a car at about 19:00h.

Major was discovered motionless on the northern edge of the road while Pollard was found in a semi-conscious condition on the grass parapet.

Debris of a vehicle was seen scattered on the northern side of the road.

Police Headquarters is asking for the public’s assistance with any information that will trace the vehicle involved and the apprehension of the driver.
