Guyana on Saturday recorded its 36th COVID-19 death.
The Ministry of Health in a statement said the patient was an 80-year-old man from Region 4.
“The MOH is in contact with the family and relatives to facilitate contact tracing and rapid assistance to everyone who may have been exposed. The Ministry is asking that patient confidentiality be respected and the families be allowed to mourn in peace,” the Ministry of Health noted.
The Ministry did not say where the man died, when he died or whether he was tested for COVID-19 before or after his death.
This is the fourth COVID-19 death reported in less than a week and the Ministry of Health continues to provide little or no information at all on the victims.
The Ministry of Health is yet to reveal any information relating to the three persons who died earlier this week from COVID-19.
Persons with symptoms of COVID-19 are asked to call the COVID-19 hotline numbers 231 1166, 226 7480 or 180/181 for assistance.
