25-Y-old dies from COVID-19; total deaths now at 69
The Ministry of Health has revealed another COVID-19 death Tuesday night, taking the overall death toll to 69.
The latest victim is a 25-year-old male from Region Four who died at around 21:00h while receiving care at a medical facility.
The Ministry did not reveal any further details of the victim and it is unknown whether he had any underlining medical conditions.
The Ministry also did not reveal whether this patient was in the COVID-19 ICU.
Guyana continues to see a rapid increase in its COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of August.
The 68th victim died less than 24 hours ago; it was a 74-year-old woman from Region One.
She died at about 13:00h on Tuesday while receiving treatment at a medical facility.
On Monday, two other elderly persons from Region One died – a 57-year-old woman and a 67-year-old man died within hours apart while also receiving treatment.
