The 13-year-old girl who was reported missing from her Corentyne Berbice home on September 15 has been found and returned to her mother.
The News Room understands that she was taken to the Whim Police Station on Tuesday morning, after which ranks informed her mother.
It is unclear where the teen was or who she was with but the Police are investigating.
The teenager was subsequently taken for a medical examination and then handed over to the mother after several statements were taken during the day.
Her mother, who spoke with the News Room, expressed gratitude to everyone who assisted and called with information on the child’s whereabouts.
On September 15, the mother discovered that the teen was not at home after she exited the shower. When checks at the homes of relatives proved futile, the frantic mother reported her missing to the Police.
The mother had initially expressed disappointment over the slothful attitude by the Police in locating the teenager but after the story was highlighted in the media, the Police decided to launch a search and intensify their investigation.
The teen has an ongoing Police matter against the son of a Police Officer in the Region.
