A 94-year-old woman has been recorded as Guyana’s 73rd COVID-19 death.
The Ministry of Health in a statement revealed that the woman from Barima-Waini in Region One, was pronounced dead on arrival at around 10:00h on Thursday at a medical facility.
“A test sample was collected from the deceased and was tested positive for COVID-19 subsequently,” the Ministry noted.
A 64-year-old male from Region Eight also died from the disease on Thursday at around 11:00h while receiving treatment.
The 73rd death would reflect eight COVID-19 related deaths in the last four days.
September has been recorded the deadliest month for COVID-19 in Guyana with 32 deaths for the month thus far.
