Guyana has recorded 130 new cases of COVID-19 taking the overall known cases in the country to 2,709.

There are 16 persons in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in addition to 235 persons in institutional isolation and 895 in home isolation. A total of 76 persons are in institutional quarantine while 1,490 persons have recovered thus far.

The death toll is at 74 but the latest COVID-19 death was not reflected in Friday’s Dashboard by the Ministry of Health.

Of the 130 cases, Region One recorded two new cases, Region Two four more cases,  Region Three 11 cases, Region Four with 96 additional cases, one new case each in Regions Five and Six, seven cases in both Regions Seven and Nine and one more in Region 10.

The number of persons tested to date is 13,250. The Ministry of Health on Friday reverted to the old Dashboard after it received backlash for suppressing information on the COVID-19 situation in Guyana by using a new format of the daily Dashboard.
