Parika labourer remanded on armed robbery charges

Ronald Armstrong called 'Rubber'

A 27-year-old labourer of Parika, East Bank Essequibo was remanded to prison on Tuesday after he was charged with two counts of armed robbery.

Police Headquarters reported that Ronald Armstrong called ‘Rubber’ appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Diamond/Grove Magistrate’s Court East Bank Demerara and pleaded not guilty to both charges.

He was remanded to prison until October 22, 2020.

According to reports, on August 27, 2020 Armstrong robbed Haymattie Sookdeo, 62, a chef and Rookmin Dookie, 56, a housewife at M. Gobin Dam Friendship, East Bank Demerara.
