Lusignan Prison Officer in marijuana find granted $150,000 bail

Quincy Jemmott, 34, one of the Lusignan Prison Officers who were found with 894.5 grams in their living quarters at the Cecil Kilkenny Training College was granted $150,000 bail on Monday. Jemmott of Schoonard, West Bank Demerara appeared in the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court charged with the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.

The Guyana Police Force in a statement said Jemmott pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him. The case was postponed until December 21.

Jemmott and another prison officer, 39-year-old Seon Albert of Ordinance of East Canje Berbice were arrested on November 11 after a search by prison officials found the illegal substance.
