The experienced Marlon ‘Fishy’ Williams clocked the fastest time in the opening race of a three-part Individual Time Trial Series on Sunday morning.

Competing from Sparendaam to the Kitty Roundabout and back to the COVID-19 Hospital at Liliendaal for the finish, Williams was timed at 11 minutes, 18.39 seconds, marginally better than Jamaul John with 11 minutes, 26.04 seconds.

Cyclists will now turn their attention to the next two stages, in Berbice on November 29 and Linden on December 6. The top three of each Time Trial will be rewarded, along with the overall top six.

The event was sponsored by Zoon Online Shopping, Star Party Rental, Professional Business Services and friends of Guyana’s cycling in the diaspora.
