A Post Mortem Examination (PME) conducted on the body of 25-year-old Eusi Lindo revealed that he died from drowning.

The PME was conducted by pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Georgetown on Monday. Lindo, a minibus driver of Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, was pulled from a Richmond Hill, Linden blue lake last Friday.

The young man went to the location for an outing with his girlfriend and friends on February 10 when tragedy struck. His body has been handed over to relatives for burial.

Lindo’s body was recovered at the location by a private diver who was hired by his relatives.

Lindo and his girlfriend were reportedly deep in the water during which he went under and never resurfaced. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30h.

The girlfriend said the water was shoulder height when Lindo started experiencing difficulties. She said he tried to hold onto her hand and they both went under but she managed to pull herself up.

The young lady said she heard a splashing sound and saw his hand as he went under.
