As of Tuesday, March 23, Guyana recorded a total of 64 new COVID-19 cases from 829 tests. This takes the total number of confirmed cases to 9,732.
Regions Four and Seven each recorded 20 new cases, while Region Three recorded 17 new cases, Region Six recorded five new cases and Regions One and 10 recorded one new case each.
A total of 11 patients are in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit at the Infectious Diseases Hospital, 61 patients are in institutional isolation and 840 patients are in home isolation.
The Ministry of Health earlier reported two COVID-19 deaths, taking the overall death toll to 218. So far, a total of 8,602 persons have recovered from the dreaded virus.
