Roraima plane crash: No life-threatening injuries; cause of accident still unknown

Roraima Airways, in a statement, said that the cause of the accident that occurred on Saturday is still unknown, noting that none of the passengers or crew members have sustained life-threatening injuries.

The airways stated that one of its trislander aircrafts made an emergency landing on the East Bank of Demerara (EBD) in the vicinity of the Haags Bosch landfill on approach to landing at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport at Ogle, East Coast of Demerara (ECD).

The travel company reported that all five individuals- including three passengers and two crew members who were aboard the aircraft- are alive and are receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).

None of the injuries are considered life threatening, according to initial medical evaluations, the airways said.

Following the crash landing, it was related that the passengers and crew were extracted and transported to Camp Ayanganna by the Bell 412 Guyana Defence Force (GDF) helicopter before being transported to the GPHC.
