The Ministry of Education has announced the plan for reopening schools for face-to-face classes on September 6, when the new academic year begins.

For a full breakdown of the individual plans for the reopening of all schools, check the Ministry of Education’s website here: https://education.gov.gy/en/index.php/sr#gsc.tab=0

It is important to note that the schools that are listed here as scheduled to be fully reopened are those schools where all levels or years will attend school at the same time and not on a rotational basis.

For some of these schools, however, the teaching staff will be utilising at least one day of the week to engage in feedback or planning sessions. For some of these schools that will be returning to full face-to-face classes, also, there may only be physical classes for four days weekly.

A total of 41 nursery schools and 44 primary schools across Guyana will reopen fully; seven secondary schools will also reopen fully.

Meanwhile, other schools across Guyana will be operating on a rotational basis; that is, different levels or years will attend face-to-face classes on different days.
