The unbeaten run of Guyanese Nathan DeNobrega and Elwyn Levius in the COTECC/ITF Under-12 tennis tournament ended on Thursday with the pair losing to opponents from the Dominican Republic in their Singles competition.
Playing in Santo Domingo, the duo could not produce the dominance of their previous three Singles and Doubles games, which they won quite comfortably.
DeNobrega lost 6-0, 6-2 to Emanuel Felix, while Levius suffered a 6-1, 6-0 defeat at the hands of Guillermo Rodriguez.
Despite the loss, Guyana is through to the semi-finals as the second qualifier.
DeNobrega and Levius were outstanding earlier in the week, recording wins over Barbados, Haiti and the US Virgin Islands.
