Decomposed body of Pomeroon farmer recovered

The decomposed body of 39-year-old Harry Mangal of Abrams Creek, Upper Pomeroon River was recovered at around 00:15hrs Friday, two days after his canoe collided with a boat.

The News Room had reported that a wooden boat with a 15HP outboard engine crashed into Mangal’s canoe on Tuesday night at around 21:00hrs along Abrams Creek. Mangal was the lone occupant of the canoe at the time.

Relatives said he was on his way to purchase batteries when the incident occurred. His body was transported to the Charity Oscar Joseph hospital then later to the mortuary where it awaits an autopsy.
