Kapildeo Gangadin, who escaped from the Lusignan Prison on the East Coast of Demerara (ECD) on Thursday morning, was recaptured on Friday.
This is according to information provided by the Guyana Prison Service. Further details will be provided in a subsequent report.
Gangadin of Annandale, ECD was charged with the fatal stabbing of 20-year-old Ganesh ‘Chris’ Persaud on October 15, 2021, and the January 18, 2020 murder of 24-year-old fisherman Mukesh Mangra known as ‘Paul’.
Gangadin appeared in the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on October 20 and was not required to plea to the two counts of murder.
