The main suspect in the murder of a well-known doctor has been identified as 19-year-old Hilton Oliver Junior Franklin.
He was arrested at 05:00hrs on Friday at the ‘back track’ route in Region Six (East Berbice-Corentyne) attempting to flee to Suriname.
The young man, who was a friend of Dr Colin Roach, resides at Best Village, West Coast Demerara (WCD). The News Room understands that he was a frequent visitor to the doctor’s Lot 111 Duke Street Kingston office.
Dr Roach was found in a pool of blood at his Duke Street, Kingston, Georgetown office on Tuesday night by two of his employees who remain in custody.
His head was bashed in, a COVID-19 vaccination book was placed neatly on his stomach and his unbuckled pants was pulled down to the knees; police also discovered currency on his lower body.
