A 45-year-old ‘B’ Field Sophia resident, who was allegedly caught red-handed while stealing several pairs of glass windows from a Campbellville home, was on Wednesday remanded to prison for simple larceny.
Rudolph Nurse appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and denied that on November 15,2021, at Akawini Street, Section ‘K’, Campbellville, he stole seven pairs of sliding glass windows valued $450,000, the property of Abdool Zaheer.
The Chief Magistrate remanded Nurse to prison until December 13.
According to reports, on the day in question, Nurse broke into the home of Zaheer, which is under construction. However, his neighbours summoned the police. Nurse was arrested at the scene by police with the stolen articles in his possession.
Nurse is not a stranger to the court. He previously served a four-year sentence for break and enter with larceny.
