Losing start for Badminton at Junior Pan Am Games

- Squash player Wiltshire loses in second round of Men’s Singles

Guyanese Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes suffered defeat on the opening day of the Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Colombia, on Friday.

Competing in the Singles competition, the duo lost in straight sets.

Priyanna lost 21-2, 21-5 to Natalie Chi of the United States of America, while Haynes went down 21-11, 21-6 to Christopher Alexander Martinez Salvador of Guatemala.

In Squash, Shomari Wiltshire lost in the second round of the Men’s Singles on Friday evening.

Wiltshire lost 11-8, 11-5, 11-2 to Ryan Picken of Canada. Earlier in the day, Wiltshire defeated Venezuelan opponent Sebastian Ricardo Araujo Ruiz 3-0 (11-4, 11-2, 11-2), while compatriot Samuel Ince-Carvalhal 3-11, 7-11, 5-11 to Jeremias Gonzalo Azana Corjeno of Argentina.
