The Guyana Oil and Gas Energy Chamber (GOGEC) and the Petroleum Commission of Ghana are expected to work closer together to develop both countries’ oil and gas sectors through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that was signed on Tuesday.

The MoU was signed in Guyana by GOGEC President Manniram Prashad and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghanian Petroleum Commission Egbert Faibille Jnr.

The stated objective of the MoU is to provide a framework for cooperation between GOGEC and the Commission and to facilitate a collaboration that will lead to an exchange of information and sharing of resources between the two bodies.

This MoU represents a tangible outcome of the bilateral engagements held between local government and private sector stakeholders and the visiting Ghanian delegation led by the country’s Vice- President Mahamudu Bawumia.
