Millions of dollars went up in flames as a massive fire ripped through the Laparkan Shipping Bond in Georgetown just before midnight on Sunday.
The News Room understands that the fire started in the northern section of the building and quickly spread throughout the facility, destroying several containers in the process.
Firefighters are struggling to contain the inferno while efforts are being made to remove hundreds of vehicles; other vehicles were also destroyed.
The Home Affairs Minister Robeson Benn is at the scene along with numerous firefighters and police ranks.
The cause of the fire is not yet known but it has been raging for more than two hours.
