A 40-year-old poultry farmer of Auchlyne Estate, Corentyne, Berbice, appeared at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on Monday charged with the attempted murder of a teenager.

It is alleged that Ravello Tyndall, called ‘Ravi’, discharged a loaded firearm at the teenager on January 20, 2022, at Auchlyne Village in the Corentyne Magisterial district.

Bail was refused by Magistrate Alex Moore and he was remanded to prison until February 8, 2022.

Initial reports had stated that police arrested Tyndall at his Auchlyne Estate, Corentyne, house for discharging a loaded firearm thrice, two of which hit the teenager in the mouth and buttocks.

The teenager was subsequently hospitalised at the New Amsterdam Hospital where he is listed in a stable condition. Tyndall had denied that he committed the act.
