Relatives of 30-year-old Lalbachan Bhagwandat have been searching for him for almost two years with no success.

Bhagwandat, who suffers from a form of mental illness, disappeared after he ran into the backlands of Canal No. 2 Polder, West Bank Demerara on April 18, 2020.

A few days later, his relatives offered a reward of $100,000 for any credible information about his whereabouts and that reward is still available.

“My mom, she is sad every day, she cannot get over it and we still continue to search,” his sister Yashwanti Bhagwandat told the News Room on Thursday.

According to her, the family received reports that he was seen in Mabaruma, Region One and in Bartica, Region Seven but searches turned up futile.

“It still baffles me and I don’t know what to say at this point, it remains a mystery, cause no one has seen or heard from him, it just makes us wonder all the time,” the sister explained.

Anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of Lalbachan Bhagwandat is asked to contact his sister on +592 676 6588.
