Court regular, Orin Favourite, called ‘Solo’ was on Monday remanded to prison for allegedly stealing a cellphone from a Bishops’ High School student.

Favourite of Rosemary Lane, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown appeared before Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that on January 20, 2022, at Carmichael Street, Georgetown, he stole the victim’s cell phone which is valued at over $30,000.

The court prosecutor objected to Favourite being released on bail since he is before the court for similar crimes.

The Magistrate upheld that prosecutor’s objection and remanded Favourite to prison until March 28, 2022.

According to reports, on the day in question, the victim was standing outside of her school on Carmichael Street with her friends when Favourite snatched her cellphone.

The incident was caught on nearby closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras.

Favourite is currently before the court on two armed robbery charges committed on July 30, 2021.  In 2017, he was sentenced to five years imprisonment for snatching a woman’s gold chain.
