A 14-year-old Tucville Secondary school girl was tragically killed when she was struck down by a speeding motorcyclist on Sunday.
Dead is Makeida Quick of ‘D’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown.
According to a police report, the accident occurred at about 12:30hrs at ‘E’ Field Sophia.
The teen was on a pedal cycle when a motorcycle (CK 7840) being driven by Glenton Redman, 21, lost control and collided with her.
As a result of the collision, the young girl was flung some distance into the air before falling into a nearby drain.
Redman fell onto the road and lost consciousness; he is receiving medical treatment under police guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Quick was picked up in an unconscious condition and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police suspect that Redman is not the holder of a provisional or driver’s licence.
Investigations are ongoing.
