Businessman Keith King was on Tuesday remanded to prison for allegedly trafficking $2.4 million worth of cocaine.

King of Bel Air Avenue, Lamaha Gardens, Georgetown, appeared before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

He denied having 2.292 kilograms (five pounds) of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking on April 16, 2022, at Bel Air Avenue.

The Chief Magistrate remanded King to prison until May 10, 2022.

King was arrested by the ranks of the Customs Anti-Narcotic Unit (CANU) following the discovery of the cocaine, which has a street value of $2.4M. Three other persons, including an underage boy, were arrested during the raid.

The businessman is no stranger to law enforcement having been charged in the case where cocaine was found in a lumber shipment in 2013.
