Rain has continued to affect the Dave West Indian Imports Under-15 inter-county 50-over tournament, with the entire third and final preliminary round being wiped out on Thursday.
Thursday’s matches should have seen Demerara face Rising Stars XI and Berbice battle Essequibo.
The final is scheduled for Friday at Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC), Bourda, however, a release from the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) on Thursday stated administrators will consult with all stakeholders to arrive at a decision on the final.
At the conclusion of the preliminary rounds, Demerara and Berbice are tied on 9.4 points but defending champions, Berbice, have a superior net run rate of 3.1 to Demerara’s 2.63, according to the GCB.
Essequibo’s Zandon Rose (58) and Romario Ramdehall (44) are the top run-scorers followed by Rising Stars XI’s Nicholas Lovell (38) and Jonathan Mentore (31) along with Adrian Hetmyer (31) of Berbice.
The best bowling figures are in the hands of Demerara’s Darwin LaRose who took 5-19 while Berbice’s Arif Khan has 4-8 and Nicholas Hall has taken 3-24 for Rising Stars.
