An autopsy conducted on the body of 24-year-old Alston Seon found that he died from a single stab wound to the heart.

The results were released on Monday by Police Headquarters, a day after Seon was murdered after he reportedly attempted to stop a fight. The incident occurred on Sunday at Third Avenue, Bartica, Region Seven.

Police in a statement revealed that the suspect remains in custody and is assisting with the investigation.

According to the report, Seon, a gold miner, was drinking beers with a friend and three Venezuelan women.

The suspect then approached Seon’s friend and began threatening him that he was going to “buss his throat.”

Police said Seon intervened and told the suspect to desist from what he was doing.

“The suspect then turned his attention on Seon and he drew a knife from the waist of his pants and dealt Seon a stab to his right side chest,” the police report said.

After he was stabbed, Seon collapsed and was picked up by his friend and taken to the Bartica Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
