The results of an autopsy conducted on Monday revealed that 41-year-old high school teacher, Omega Ault died as a result of multiple traumas to the head and brain haemorrhage.

“Brain haemorrhage and multiple traumas to the head, those are the causes of death,” Regional Commander Mahendra Siwnarine told the News Room.

Ault’s decomposed body was discovered at her Crane, West Coast Demerara (WCD) house on Friday. The search for her husband Clarence Farley, known as Junior, is still ongoing.

It is suspected that the teacher may have died between May 14 and 27, however, the Commander said the post-mortem did not determine when she died exactly.

Police Headquarters reported that the woman’s brother Kevin Ault, a mechanic, visited her home on Friday after he could not reach her for days.

There, he made the gruesome discovery. Ault was found lying face down inside of her house at around 17:00hrs.

The brother then went to the Vreed-en-Hoop police station and reported the incident.

According to the police, the couple was reportedly encountering marital problems.

According to the police, Farley took their three-year-old son to Diamond, East Bank Demerara, at the dead woman’s sister, Tracy Ault, about four days before she was found dead.

Farley reportedly told the sister that he was going into a backdam for work. He has not been seen since then.

A wanted bulletin has been issued for Farley, whose last known addresses are Lot 1A ‘X’ New Road, Vreed-en-Hoop and Lot 291 Section ‘A’ Block ‘Y’ Golden Grove, East Bank Demerara.

Even though they’ve been together for years, the News Room understands that the couple only got married in December 2021.
