Woman, 30, among two COVID deaths; 35 new cases recorded

An unvaccinated woman, 30, who lived in Region Three (Essequibo Islands- West Demerara) and a 46-year-old fully vaccinated woman from Region Six (East Berbice- Corentyne) are Guyana’s latest COVID-19 deaths.

Both women died on June 18, based on information provided by the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, another 35 new cases were recorded after 521 tests were completed.

With these new infections, the total number of cases recorded since March 2020 has increased to 66,491.

The new cases were recorded in the following regions: Region Two (one case), Region Three (five cases), Region Four (22 cases) and Region Six (seven cases).

Meanwhile, there are two patients in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 28 patients in institutional isolation and 867 patients are in home isolation.

To date, 64, 347 people have recovered.
