Anyone with information can contact the nearest police station; all information will be treated with strict confidence.
The woman was hospitalised at the Georgetown Public Hospital after she was stabbed in the neck and abdomen by Patterson, who has been on the run since.
The incident occurred at the victim’s Hadfield Street, Georgetown, house two months after the two ended their relationship, but they maintained communication and the man would visit from time to time.
During one of the visits, on May 16, Patterson met Hoppie’s new boyfriend; the boyfriend subsequently left after which Hoppie and the ex-boyfriend had an argument.
It is alleged that since it was past midnight, Hoppie allowed the accused to sleep at her home and she retired to bed at about 02:00hrs.
According to the police, at about 03:30 hrs, the accused went into Hoppie’s room, which was not locked, and stood over her with a knife in his right hand.
“She tried to fight the accused off and he dealt her a stab to her left-side neck and another to her right-side abdomen, after which he exited the house and fled the scene to an unknown location,” the police report noted.
