Guyana’s 3×3 Basketball team whipped St. Lucia on Saturday as action continued in the inaugural Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe.

The Guyanese surged to an 18-3 success over the St. Lucians to record their second victory in three games thus far. 17-year-old Kimol Grimmond was outstanding for Guyana with five block shots.

Earlier on Saturday, Guyana lost 21-16 to Cuba. On Friday, the Guyanese started the Games with a 16-10 triumph over Guadeloupe.

The Caribbean Games is being hosted for the first time with Under-23 athletes in seven disciplines.

Guyana is being represented in 3×3 Basketball, Athletics and Swimming.

On Friday, athlete Chantoba Bright and swimmer Raekwon Noel etched their names in history, becoming the first two Guyanese to win medals at the Games.

They both copped a bronze medal in their respective event. Noel finished third in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, and Bright did same in the Women’s Long Jump event.
