Medals for Archer and Crane at Caribbean Games

Athlete Joanna Archer and swimmer Zara Crane copped a silver and bronze medal respectively on Saturday as action continued in the inaugural Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe.

Archer finished second in the Women’s 800m, while Crane was third in the Women’s 200m Breaststroke.

Their medals took Guyana’s haul at the event to four, adding to the bronze medals secured by athlete Chantoba Bright and swimmer Raekwon Noel on Friday.

Noel finished third in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, and Bright did same in the Women’s Long Jump event.

The 3×3 Basketball team will compete in the bronze medal round

Guyana will play in the bronze medal round in the Men’s 3×3 Basketball after losing 21-14 to the Dominican Republic in the semi-finals on Saturday afternoon. The Guyanese next play Cuba in the bronze medal game.

Earlier on Saturday, Guyana defeated Suriname 15-13 in the quarter-final round, whipped St. Lucia 18-3 and lost to Cuba 21-16.
