A man armed with a cutlass on Monday morning stormed the Bohemia Primary School on the No. 19 Public Road, East Berbice Corentyne, in a bid to attack a female parent.
The News Room was informed by sources at the school that the man was intoxicated and ran into the school, armed with a cutlass, to attack a female parent who had just taken her child to school.
The parent was forced to hide in the school for her own safety while other parents grabbed their children and ran inside the school. Teachers also ran for their safety.
Fortunately, no-one was harmed during the traumatising ordeal.
The irate man continued his rampage and claimed that the woman owed him money. He also chopped a motorcycle several times, damaging it in the process.
It is understood that the school is without a security guard during the day shift; a part time worker on duty on Monday also ran for his safety.
The man managed to escape on foot before the Police arrived on the scene.
What a ruthless man. If in truth and in fact the parent owes him money as he claimed then that is not the correct way to go about the matter. He should have contacted the police. However, if she does owe him she had better pay up or cause grave danger not only to herself but to others. Several.livrs could have been lost on that first occasion.
