Nathan Anthony Stoute, 24, of Helena, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara was sentenced to eight years imprisonment for the murder of 34-year-old Sheniza Khan Bhola during a robbery at her Rock Creek, Cuyuni River shop in 2014.

Stoute was sentenced by Justice Jo-Ann Barlow at Suddie High Court in Region Two.

He was represented by attorney-at-law Latchmi Dindyal. The State was represented by Tiffini Lyken.

Dindyal said his client could spend less years in prison if he abides by the condition of the order presented by Justice Barlow.

On November 9, 2022, Stoute admitted that between February 26 – 27, 2014, he murdered the woman during the course of a robbery.

On December 31, 2018, Stoute was arrested by police at a Berbice location after he had returned to Guyana from Suriname where he fled after allegedly committing the gruesome murder.

According to reports, Bhola, who resided at Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, was found dead in her shop, which was locked from the outside. She was found with three stab wounds.

The gruesome discovery was made at around 10:00 hrs on February 27, 2014, after a young man visited the shop and found it locked.

Stoute, at that time, was employed by Bhola. Police had issued a wanted bulletin for his arrest.
