Backed by its Caterpillar brand of heavy-duty machines and equipment and with 30 years in the business, Machinery Corporation of Guyana Ltd (MACORP) is holding itself out as a major partner in the current infrastructural transformation of Guyana.

The company has shifted its focus from just providing superior machines and is offering its customers more innovation with the use of technology and a guarantee for sustainable solutions.

MACORP has long been the supplier and distributor for Cat’s heavy equipment line, which includes machines for construction, mining, agriculture, and forestry, and has enjoyed a reputation built on an experienced workforce, a strong allegiance, and commitment to the country’s economic growth.

On Tuesday, the company held an equipment demonstration at its Providence, East Bank Demerara location mainly for its Chinese buyers and other customers.

There, the company’s Chief Executive Officer Guillermo Escarraga recommitted to helping to build Guyana through partnership and collaboration.

He said Guyana has become rich with opportunities from its oil and gas production and with infrastructural development taking place at a rapid pace, the company remains a trusted partner.

“You can count on us…we provide sustainable integrated solutions to help reach targets.

“Today, you will see a display of a small sample of the support we provide when you choose caterpillar,” he said.

The solutions range from ordering parts online to delivery at worksites and the company’s highly trained technicians are standing by the fleet of machines, readily available to help customers.

With the introduction of an online application and the support of a website, Escarraga assured that MACORP and Caterpillar will be a part of the development every step of the way.

“Let us work together to build Guyana for the new generations,” he said.

The company boasted and demonstrated that its machines are equipped with e-fence technology for safety, allowing the avoidance of accidents and reducing downtown and loss of money.

There is also online tracking for machine performance and maintenance and the identification of faults.

Also with its online parts store, MACORP allows customers to skip the line and purchase online – a quicker and simpler way to do business. Once parts are bought online they can be delivered to the client and installed by MACORP mechanics.

Supported by the maintenance app, persons can request a range of services from the company.
