The Trophy Stall has teamed up with the Lusignan Golf Club to stage an 18-hole Medal Play tournament on Saturday (March 4) at the Lusignan Golf Course, East Coast Demerara.

A number of top local players are expected to assemble for a 12:30h start, with prizes up for grabs for positions one to three, overall Best Gross, Nearest-to-the-Flag and Longest Drive.

Public Relations Officer of the Lusignan Golf Club, Paton George, said Trophy Stall has been one of the main sponsors of the Club for over a decade, “working with us in a truly beneficial way.”

“We get a lot of our trophies and memorabilia from Trophy Stall and in turn they host a yearly tournament. The tournament is always exciting. This year we expect the course to play very long because the ball will not roll out that much. We expect a very competitive competition and winner will definitely have to withstand the conditions.”

Monique Allicock (centre), Sales Representative of Trophy Stall’s South Road branch, hands over the sponsorship cheque to Lusignan Golf Club’s PRO Paton George in the presence of the Club’s Secretary Chet Bowling

George further related that while the grounds are in good condition, it will be a soft fairway as there would not be much bounce and roll.

He further thanked Trophy Stall, noting that the Club is looking to continue the fruitful relationship as they progress into the future.

All participants are advised to contact the club’s manager on the day of the tournament to collect their scorecards, pay their tournament fees and proceed to their allocated tee boxes to begin play promptly.

“Once on their respective tee boxes, players must await the sounding of the horn or siren as indication to begin teeing off,” the Club said in a press release.

The tournament is slated to finish by approximately 17:30h.
