Second win for Select XI; Berbice off the mark in Inter-County U-15

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Select XI registered a second straight victory and Berbice rebounded from a first round defeat when action in the GCB Inter-County Under-15, 50-over competition continued on Wednesday.

The GCB Select XI defeated Essequibo by seven wickets at Enmore, and Berbice recorded a similar margin of victory against Demerara.

At Enmore: Essequibo 71 all out off 29.2 overs (Elisha Ramdatt 16; Arun Gainda 3-7, Jonathan Mentore 3-20, Shane Prince 2-6, Dave Mohabir 2-3) vs GCB Select XI 75-3 from 12.3 overs (Vishal Williams 23, Jonathan Mentore 14*, Shoaib Gafoor 12*).

At Everest: Demerara 86 all out from 45 overs (Mickle Sharma 20; Arif Khan 4-21, Feaz Baksh 3-18) vs Berbice 87-3 from 41.3 overs (Richard Ramdeholl 21, Adrian Hetmyer 19, Navin Boodwah 18)

In round one, Demerara thumped Essequibo by 55 runs, and the Select XI prevailed by the narrow margin of a single run against Berbice.

The third and final round will be played on Friday with Berbice facing Essequibo at GCC, and the GCB Select XI up against Demerara at Enmore. Both matches will start at 09:30h.
