The owner of Dapper Technology Incorporated, Kester Hutson, was on Monday elected as President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) while Richard Rambarran of NCB Capital Markets was voted in as the Senior Vice President.

Hutson, who previously held the position of Vice President, was elected following the Chamber’s 133rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) held virtually on March 22, the GCCI said in a statement on Thursday.
The newly formed Executive Management Committee and Council take effect immediately. Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar and outgoing President of the GCCI, Timothy Tucker gave brief remarks during the AGM.
Tucker, who served as President of the Chamber for two years, delivered the President’s report, where he revealed that the GCCI’s cash flow for the year 2022 was $56.7 million as compared to 50.9 million in 2021.
According to him, this indicates that the GCCI can invest in future prospects which bodes well for its members.
“Over the past year, the GCCI has proven to be a prominent business voice in Guyana and I am confident that we are entering an era of unparalleled growth and development,” Tucker said.
He added that the GCCI’s membership continues to grow and now stands at over 743.
