The skeletal remains which were found along an access road at Kamwatta in Region One, are believed to be that of Jonella Althea Abiola Johnson, 41, who went missing in March this year.

On Friday, Police Commander, Senior Superintendent Himnauth Sawh, told the News Room that a relative of Johnson’s family had come forward after the Police sought the public’s help to identify the remains. The Police had found a skull, bones and hair.

Johnson resided on the West Coast of Berbice.

The relative told Police that Johnson suffered from mental illness and was staying in a hostel when she went missing.

How Johnson reached Region One has not been determined.

Investigations are ongoing. (By Krystal Kennedy)
