Investigators probing the murders of Johnson Bowen, 87, and Manuel Dos Santos, 58, who were shot during a home invasion at Linden on Saturday are on the hunt for several suspects in relation to the matter.

Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum told the News Room that as the investigation continues, one suspect is in police custody. He is thought to have aided in the planning of the crime.

According to Blanhum, several persons, including principal offenders, are currently being pursued.

Among those wanted are John Ross called “JR” and Troy Bruce called “Blacka.”

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Monday issued wanted bulletins for the men, whose last known addresses are Five Corner, Linden and Lot 26 Wismar Hill, Linden.

Bowen and Dos Santos, both of Block 22, Wismar, Linden were shot dead after they tried to fend off three masked gunmen, who invaded their home at around 04:00 hrs on Saturday. Two of the bandits were armed with guns.

At the weekend, two persons were arrested.

However, the News Room understands that one of the two suspects arrested was not involved in the murders.

Another accomplice was found dead Sunday in a house where the two suspects were hiding in Linden. His identity remains unknown. He was reportedly chopped several times by the victims during the home invasion.

It was then that the bandits shot at the victims, killing two of them and injuring 20-year-old Denzil Roberts who went over to the house to help his relatives.

The News Room understands that Roberts remains in a critical condition with three gunshot wounds.
