To give back to the sport, West Indies all-rounder Kevin Sinclair will host a Youth Camp from July 17-19 at the Police Sports Club Ground, mainly for U-13, U-15, and U-17 cricketers in Demerara.
The camp is expected to be headed by Guyana Harpy Eagles’ Assistant Coach, Garvin Nedd, and Sinclair will be present to assist over the three days as he hopes to attract 100 young cricketers.
“ Everyone knows I am from Berbice, my home, where my heart is, but I want to help as many persons as possible, just as how many helped me reach where I am. I thought Demerara would be a good way to do so, and in the future, I want to go to Essequibo”, the off-spinner, who recently returned from the Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
Sponsored by Jacobs Jewelry & Pawn Shop, Sinclair said there will be prizes for the best bowler, best batsman, best wicketkeeper, and most discipline cricketer.
Sinclair hopes the young players can absorb the information at hand and use it to develop their craft.
