A fourth person has succumbed following the accident involving a motor vehicle and a truck Monday night on the Craig Public Road, East Bank Demerara (EBD).
Traffic Chief, Dennis Stephen confirmed the passing of a fourth adult Tuesday afternoon.
She has been identified as Ivette Domingo of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
Reports are that Domingo succumbed while receiving medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH) around noon.
Three other persons who died are Eric Christopher Thomas, 60, Annette Williams, 56 and their daughter Lynette Chappelle.
Two children, seven-year-old Keron Chappelle (Lynette’s son) along with a 13-year-old cousin were also injured.
They were all occupants of motor vehicle #PPP 3034, driven by Stanley La Cruise, a 57-year-old resident of Mon Repos Pasture, ECD.
The News Room understands that Domingo is the wife La Cruise. She was reportedly seated in the front passenger seat of the car.
Police Headquarters said investigations revealed that La Cruise allegedly made a ‘U-Turn’ from the eastern driving lane onto the western driving lane and in the process, he collided with the motor lorry, GYY 9560.
Both La Cruise and the truck driver, Tyrese Bess, a 21-year-old of Mocha, EBD are presently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
Police said they were both administered breathalyzer tests and no trace of alcohol was detected.
At the time, the victims were heading to Grove.
Eric, Annette and Lynette, who were about five months pregnant, all residents of Charity, Essequibo had traveled to the city last week to attend a cricket match.
