Cops looking for suspect in fatal Leopold St. stabbing

The Guyana Police Force on Sunday confirmed that an investigation into the fatal stabbing of Noel Fraser called ‘Nunu’, is ongoing and investigators are trying to locate the suspect.

In a statement, the GPF said the suspect is a 25-year-old gold miner of Leopold Street, Werk-en-Rust, Georgetown and also from Tucville.

Fraser, 18, of Leopold Street was murdered at about 08:00 hrs during a brawl involving himself, the suspect and others. The teen was at the time trying to part the fight when he met his demise.

The 25-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed the victim during the fight, after which he escaped.

Fraser was rushed to Georgetown Public Hospital by relatives, where he died while receiving medical attention.

“Several persons were questioned, and Police are trying to locate the suspect and the other persons involved in the fatal altercation,” the GPF said.

The investigations are ongoing.
