Man found in bushes died from pesticide poisoning- autopsy
An autopsy performed on the remains of Ovril Adamson Pedro, the 34-year-old man, whose body was discovered in a clump of bushes at Soesdyke, East Bank Demerara, at the weekend revealed that he died as a result of pesticide poisoning.
Police Headquarters confirmed the findings of the autopsy, which was conducted by Government Pathologist, Dr. Nehaul Singh.
Police had said Pedro’s body was discovered at around 08:00hrs on August 19 by Manuge Samaroo, a 53-year-old fisherman who went to catch ‘Iguana’ in the backlands.
“He reported his discovery to the Police. The body was examined for marks of violence, but none was seen,” a Police press release noted.
According to the Police, a black wallet containing Pedro’s ID card and a bank card were found in the right-side front pants pocket.
A Samsung Galaxy S9 cellphone was also found next to the body.
Pedro was taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was officially pronounced dead.
