Two men who allegedly colluded to carry out an armed robbery attack on a Chinese-owned supermarket at Lusignan, East Coast Demerara on Tuesday are now in police custody.
Ryan Goodluck, a 29-year-old vendor of Herstelling Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara and Jamal Seymour, a 25-year-mason of Sussex Street, Georgetown were arrested Wednesday night.
One of the suspects arrested is said to be the mastermind, and the other is believed to be the person who held the cashier at gunpoint.
In a statement, Police Headquarters said its ranks acted on information received after the suspects’ photos were posted on social media.
“Commander 4C, his Deputy, along with a team from Divisions 4C and 4A, searched the homes of the two suspects at about 23:00 hrs last night,” the Police statement noted.
Police found the pants, boots, and hat worn by the suspect who had the gun.
